Job Description

Outpost is hiring a Reddit Marketer and Community Manager to own clients’ presence on Reddit, running their branded Reddit accounts and subreddits and representing them in the communities that matter to them.

Location: Fully remote in the United States or Canada. Clients and the team meet during North American business hours.
Employment type: Full-time
Department: Marketing
Compensation: $54K – $108K a year, depending on your seniority and the number of clients you manage

About Outpost

Outpost is a fast-growing, tech-enabled marketing agency focused entirely on Reddit. It helps brands earn a real, lasting presence in the communities that shape how people discover and choose them. All of its work is white-hat and fully in the open: brands are represented as themselves or as named team members, with no fake accounts. For each client, Outpost joins the conversations already happening across their space and builds the brand its own subreddit. Its platform handles monitoring and prioritisation, while people handle the strategy, writing and judgment.

The role

  • Own a client’s presence on Reddit, running both their branded accounts (e.g. u/personname_at_brandname) and their subreddit (e.g. r/brandname)
  • Understand each client deeply: what they sell, who buys it and how they talk about themselves
  • Use Outpost’s platform to surface conversations worth joining, and apply Reddit judgment on how to show up the right way
  • Build genuine goodwill around each brand over months, making it a welcome, trusted member of its communities
  • Run several clients at once, working exclusively with Outpost (no other Reddit or agency clients)
  • Plan for one to two hours of meetings a week with the Outpost team, its engineers and sometimes clients

What the work looks like

  • Community engagement (the core): Work from a prioritised thread queue, commenting, posting and running occasional AMAs on the brand’s behalf, including threads where the brand is compared or discussed negatively. Everything is disclosed and approved before it goes live. High-priority threads need a response ideally within the hour and at the latest within 24 hours.
  • Community growth: Help build and run the client’s own subreddit, turning threads that rank on Google into content that lives there, and moderating it into a real home for the community.
  • Community intelligence: Flag what buyers are really saying and what is worth acting on, feeding the monthly intelligence Outpost delivers to clients.

Outside of high-priority moments there is no set schedule; the hours are yours. Time per client scales with its size.

What we’re looking for

  • Deep Reddit knowledge: you know what earns traction and what gets removed
  • A marketing background such as content, social media, SEO or AEO/GEO; agency experience is a plus
  • Real enthusiasm for the brands you would represent
  • You write like a person, not a marketer, and are comfortable putting your name to a brand in the open
  • A big plus: you have represented a brand on Reddit or run a brand’s community, and can name the brands
