Torney Car and Commercial Ltd is recruiting experienced mechanics for positions working on light commercial vehicles and HGVs.

We carry out servicing, repairs and fleet maintenance, including work on government and council vehicles. We also sell vehicles and operate our own hire fleet, offering a varied workload across customer repairs, vehicle sales preparation and hire fleet maintenance.

You’ll work in industry-leading workshop facilities, with generous hourly rates based on your experience and ability.

Duties will include:

• Routine servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs on light commercial vehicles and/or HGVs, depending on your role and experience. • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults. • Repairs to brakes, suspension, steering, engines and drivetrain components. • Preparing vehicles for MOT/PSV tests. • Inspecting and preparing vehicles for sale and customer handover. • Maintaining our hire fleet and preparing vehicles for customers. • Carrying out fleet inspections and identifying defects. • Accurately recording inspections and work completed. • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workspace.

We’re looking for mechanics who:

• Have experience working on light commercial vehicles, HGVs or both. • Have good diagnostic and problem-solving skills. • Can work independently and as part of a team. • Are reliable and take pride in the quality of their work. • Hold a full driving licence. An HGV licence would be an advantage for the HGV role.

Applicants with experience in either light commercial vehicles or HGVs are welcome—you do not need experience in both.
